Teacher Gone Wild!

Well, not really… It’s more like Teacher Gone Dumb. I was trying to let this one slide by without commenting on it but I couldn’t resist any longer. If you haven’t heard about Inskip Elementary School teacher Melinda England posting risque photos on MySpace, read this KnoxNews article first, or watch the WATE6 report.
At 28 […]

Review: Oak Ridge Nissan - Service Dept

This weekend I took our Altima in to have a recall fixed. If you have a Nissan that needs to be serviced, I recommend you go to Oak Ridge Nissan.  I’ve been to several others Nissan dealerships in the Knoxville area but this was my first visit to Oak Ridge Nissan… from now on they’ll […]

Jesus The Action Figure

Local Wal-Mart stores just started carrying an 11 inch tall Jesus doll created by Christian toy makers One2believe.  It was weird at first for me to think of Jesus as an action figure doll.  But then, my next thought was, I can’t believe this hasn’t been done before.  I’ll get back to what I think […]

Cigarette Trafficing & Smoking Ban

Local ‘Idol’ Sill Hanging In

Like a lot of you, we’ve gotten into a habit of watching American Idol each week to see how everyone sounds, looks and performs, wondering who’ll be the next to go.  In Knoxville, we’ve had several ‘locals’ to keep up with on reality television most notably Tina Wesson, the winner of Survivor Outback.
I didn’t realize there was a […]

Review: Events At Sherlake

Located in just off Cedar Bluff in the heart of West Knoxville, Events at Sherlake is just one of the several local inflatable indoor play plazas - featuring slides, rock climbs, obstacle courses and bounce houses - that have been showing up all over town lately.
Having been to Events at Sherlake - and a couple […]

Taxpayers Pay LESS in Tennessee

Good news for us on taxes.  Tennessee ranked as the 3rd most “tax friendly” state on an income tax survey by CNNMoney.
Tennessee residents pay some of the lowest state taxes because they only owe income tax on dividends and interest.
Tennessee’s total tax burden figures at 8.5 percent of income.  Only Alaska and New Hampshire ranked better, the […]

Tennessean For President?

Former Republican U.S. Senator Fred Thompson has not yet said if he is a presidential candidate. But a Chattanooga editorial page has joined a “draft Fred” movement with an endorsement of the actor and attorney 19 months before the election.
Thompson is running third in a few national polls without doing anything more than acknowledging he was […]
